Entertainment on Ice wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a smashing 2018!
There is a lot going on in 2018! Lots of super fun events scheduled with ice, skating, sliding, watching, experiencing, enjoying and in my case organizing.
We start the year off right with a“100%NL Freestyle on Ice” tour of the Netherlands on January 4-5-6-7 and 14. The Freestyle Skaters Eindhoven then tour all the ice rinks in the Netherlands for the “KNSB Winter Games. See the agenda here. Tune in to radio 100%NL because that’s where you’ll hear more about this fat tour in the coming weeks, and come see it all! A super fun event to kick off the year!
And 2018 is, of course, the year for Friesland. The entire province is then in an uproar because of“Leeuwarden Cultural Capital. Nice and early in the cultural year, on March 25, is the project IJSTIJD Thialf can be seen in Heerenveen. A super fun and multiculti collaborative project of all parties from Heerenveen municipality “melting together” (haha) on the ice!
In that same week is also The Silver Ball at the Elfstedenhal on March 21. Did you actually know that this event has a super fun and interesting cultural history? We are going to do something fun with that, because that story deserves to be told, but I’m keeping it under wraps for now!
What I am also really looking forward to is The coolest track in the Netherlands at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. The doors open there on Jan. 18 through March 11 with really all kinds of things to do, see and experience and I’m definitely going to take a look. Very proud of my “fellow Lemster” Rintje Ritsma for getting this off the ground again.
So what? Yes then it is time again for the beautiful and warm (iceless) weather. Spring and summer, but even then I am certainly not sitting still.
For the “Elfsteden-Experience 2020,” there is also a lot to be done and I am super excited to get started on that. Planning creative sessions, finding and connecting a screenwriter and director, developing the script and lots more, but lots of fun 🙂
Now first, let’s enjoy ourselves with family and friends, and let’s secretly hope for some natural ice to have fun sliding, swaying, laughing and yapping together!
