For whom.

The Performance Academy was created for figure skaters who would like to participate in skating shows, but do not know how to get there or have not developed enough skills to become a show skater.

From their own experience, founders Madelene and Joyce know that becoming a professional show skater is not easy. Both were figure skaters in the competitive sport until they were 18 years old. An important stage in young adult life when choices are made, such as the choice to go to college. Many skaters stop competing at this stage of life and are looking for a purpose within their sport passion. Stop or continue? Many skaters will recognize this.

Both Madelene and Joyce were both always passionate about performing for audiences when they were still competing. Both dreamed of skating in a big show like Holiday on Ice or Disney on Ice. Their dream came true when they made the move at age 18 and auditioned, after which they Performed in professional skating shows around the world for 10 years. Simply put, they started making money from their passion instead of it always costing money. With the added benefit that they could continue to pursue their greatest passion. What they both were not prepared for is how tough life as a professional performer can be, how that works when you join a skating show or how you get into it at all. And that is exactly what they want to change now for young figure skaters of today, so that more skaters in the Netherlands can make the step to show skating and continue to pursue their passion.

When you book a performance workshop or performance camp with Entertainment on Ice, we take a close look at your specific situation to customize the booking to make it work! Especially when working with groups, we organize our workshops so that we divide groups by age and/or skill level. We would also like to be of service to figure skating clubs and coaches. We offer off Ice workshops for clubs and coaches on how to put on a great club show!

Twice a year, Entertainment on Ice hosts its own Performance Camp at a centrally located ice rink in the Netherlands!
